This oil is also excellent in massage blends for sore muscles and joints. In classical aromatherapy, it is referred to as an oil that "restores contact with the need for nourishment." Angelica root oil supports contact with the body, regulates digestion, and reduces tension associated with somatic anxiety, which in classical aromatherapy is sometimes used for long-term weakness and eating disorders – as emotional support.

Angelica root essential oil comes from the edible roots of flowering plants grown in France and is steam-distilled. Its complex aroma, valued in perfumery, combines earthy, herbal, and woody notes. It is also often called "garden angelica," "wild celery" (due to its light celery notes), or "Norwegian angelica."

Breathe deeply and freely – prepare an inhaler with angelica oil to support immunity and open airways.

Relief – Muscle and joint soreness
Massage a blend of angelica oil with a carrier oil into tense, sore areas to restore comfort and freedom of movement.

Digestive disorders
Spasmodic enterocolitis, intestinal bloating, intestinal cramps, colic. Mix with carrier oil. Apply the blend topically, gently massaging into the affected area.

• Phototoxicity: Angelica oil is phototoxic – avoid skin exposure to sun or tanning beds for up to 18 hours after application
• Concentration: According to Tisserand and Young's "Essential Oil Safety," the maximum concentration in skin applications is 0.8% (4 drops per 30 ml of carrier oil) to avoid the risk of phototoxicity

Woody and balsamic:

• Frankincense, cedarwood, myrrh – stabilize angelica's action without risk of irritation

Herbal:

• Lavender, rosemary, clary sage – emotionally balancing, supporting relaxation, but without excessive sedation

Safe citrus:

• Bergamot FCF, orange, mandarin – brighten the aroma without the risk of phototoxicity

Floral:

• Geranium, ylang ylang, rose – enhance harmonious action, without excessive sedative effect

Note: Some calming oils, such as vetiver and patchouli, can enhance the relaxing effects of angelica. In larger quantities, vetiver has a stronger sedative effect and can cause drowsiness, while patchouli is more stabilizing and grounding.
