Anise Essential Oil (Pimpinella anisum)
100% Pure & Natural Anise (Pimpinella anisum) Essential Oil is obtained by steam distillation from the ripe, brown seeds of anise flowers cultivated in the eastern Mediterranean. This species is typical of this region, native to Greece and Southwest Asia. This anise has a surprisingly fresh, "citrusy, sparkling" aura. A high d-limonene content (28.7%) lifts the composition and adds lightness, giving it a more refreshing first impression than typical licorice. At the same time, trans-anethole is present in moderation (60%), leaving the scent clear, clean, with a pleasant lightness at the top. Estragole is low (2.85%).
Anise with a distinct, sweet profile, a classic "licorice" note, and a delicate touch of fennel. It opens brightly and freshly, quickly transforming into a pleasant, enveloping warmth. It works beautifully as a luminous "spark" in citrus compositions, as well as in accords with a sweeter base and classic, herbal-woody arrangements. If you prefer a very classic, licorice-syrupy character, choose the one with higher anethole; this version is more refreshing.

Interesting fact: Anise seed (Pimpinella anisum) and star anise/star anise (Illicium verum) smell similar due to anethole, but they are different species: the former are the seeds of a herbaceous plant from Europe/Mediterranean, the latter are the star-shaped fruits of a tree from Asia.
Vessel essential oils are tested using GC/MS and GC/FID methods, confirming their authenticity, purity and compliance with the natural plant profile.
The analysis utilizes gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry (GC/MS) in SCAN mode to precisely identify each component. Quantitative composition is determined using GC/FID. This ensures that we offer only natural oils, free from synthetic additives—ideal for professional aromatherapy applications. The distillery specializes in medicinal and aromatic plants (MAP) and complies with ISO 9001/22000 and Organic/COSMOS standards, among others.
