Juniper Berry Essential Oil (Juniperus communis) creates a distinct "forest air" impression, helping to establish an atmosphere of lightness and mental clarity. In aromatherapy, it is frequently used in diffusers and massage blends to relieve body tension and restore a sense of freshness and energy.
Juniper Berry Essential Oil
Certified organic juniper berry essential oil (Juniperus communis), steam distilled, features a chemical profile with a distinctly fresh, coniferous, and subtly citrus-resinous character.
The largest component is α-pinene (45.21%), which gives the characteristic forest scent and a feeling of freshness and spaciousness, responsible for the oil's energizing, purifying nature.
Another significant component is β-myrcene (32.12%), which introduces a softer, slightly balsamic aromatic tone and gives the composition a gentler character, supporting muscle relaxation and overall ease. Limonene (6.03%) imparts a subtle, citrusy nuance and enhances the aroma's fresh impression. The profile is complemented by sesquiterpenes, such as α-humulene (2.02%), β-caryophyllene (1.94%), δ-cadinene (1.77%), and germacrene D, which add depth and a light resinous base to the scent.
The combination of high α-pinene, β-myrcene, and limonene content makes this batch of juniper essential oil very fresh, clean, and energizing. Aromatically, it is distinctly coniferous yet subtly soft and balsamic, making it suitable for both air-purifying diffusion and aromatherapy blends supporting concentration and a sense of lightness.

Application
Air Purification – Diffusion
Juniper essential oil is one of the classic oils for scenting spaces. Its fresh, coniferous aroma helps create an atmosphere of purity, freshness, and natural lightness.
Concentration and Mental Clarity
In diffusion, it can be used during work, study, or intense intellectual effort. The aroma of juniper promotes a sense of mental space and refreshes the mind.
Massage – Circulation – Feeling of Body Lightness
When diluted in a carrier oil, it is often used in massage blends for muscle tension or heavy legs. The monoterpenes present in the oil give it a profile particularly useful in toning and activating compositions.
Safety
Traditionally, juniper berry essential oil is considered contraindicated during pregnancy and for individuals with kidney disease. However, Tisserand and Young do not indicate any specific precautions for the use of juniper essential oil. They do note that juniper oil is prone to oxidation, which can increase the risk of skin sensitization. For this reason, old or oxidized oil should be avoided. It is recommended to consult the full safety profile described by Tisserand and Young. Robert Tisserand, Rodney Young, Essential Oil Safety, second edition, Churchill Livingstone Elsevier, 2014, p. 314.

Quality Assurance – GC/MS and GC/FID Tests
Vessel brand essential oils are tested using GC/MS and GC/FID methods, confirming their authenticity, purity, and compliance with the plant's natural profile.
The analysis uses gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry (GC/MS) in SCAN mode to precisely identify each component. Quantitative composition is determined by GC/FID. This ensures that we offer only natural essential oils, without synthetic additives – ideal for professional aromatherapy applications. The distillery specializes in medicinal and aromatic plants (MAP). It operates under ISO 9001/22000 and Organic/COSMOS standards, among others.
