Helichrysum Hydrosol (Helichrysum italicum) Organic
Certified organic Helichrysum hydrolate is created through steam distillation from flowers sourced from organic farms. This pure hydrolate belongs to a small group of distillates that truly "work" on sensitive and reactive skin. Distillation, conducted for the hydrolate's sake (not as a side effect of the oil), produces a pure, stable profile with a herbal-honey aroma. The water used for distillation is crystal-clear (mountain spring water).
Artisanal product, not manufactured on an industrial scale. Limited quantities.
Helichrysum Italiana hydrosol is renowned primarily for its rejuvenating properties – a natural skincare essential. It is one of the most powerful hydrosols in aromatherapy, supporting the body's natural repair processes. Its herbal, warm, honey-like aroma helps open the heart to deep emotional healing – for both fresh and long-standing wounds.
Our certified organic Helichrysum hydrolate is steam distilled from the intensely yellow flowers of plants grown in the USA specifically for hydrolate distillation.
Aromatics International distills specifically for hydrosol, using longer distillation times, fresh plant material and copper stills, ensuring:
- higher concentration of active water-soluble compounds,
- better therapeutic properties,
- more stable scent.
Using a hydrolate alongside an oil provides a full spectrum of benefits – both the oil and water fractions of the plant.

Why is it worth it?
Aromatics International's Helichrysum hydrosol is distilled specifically for hydrosol production, not as a byproduct of essential oil distillation. The long, slow distillation process preserves the delicate aromatic compounds responsible for its exceptional nourishing and therapeutic properties.
Users describe its scent as clean, floral and deeply calming, and its effect on the skin as velvety, brightening and regenerating.

Hydrolates and essential oils – what is the difference?
Simply put, a hydrosol is water-based, while an essential oil is fatty. A hydrosol contains the plant's hydrophilic (water-loving) components, while an essential oil contains lipophilic (fat-loving) molecules.
The oil content in the hydrolate is trace, too small for the oil to separate or float to the surface (therefore, the hydrolate does not need to be shaken before use).

Hydrosols are sourced from fresh, certified organic plants, steam-distilled in traditional copper stills. Each one is created intentionally – specifically for the hydrosol, not as a byproduct of essential oil distillation.
People with sensitive skin particularly appreciate their gentleness and soothing effect. Hydrosols are also safe for children and pets – although in aromatherapy for animals, we always allow them to choose whether they want to be exposed to the fragrance.
